Update: My Life

Um, so, I'm kind of a crazy person these days.
Flitting this way and that.
Doing things.
All the time.
Every day.

I love my life, and I'm having a great time, but I regret that I don't have more time for the blog.  For you awesome followers that I have.

So there need to be some changes.  Some prioritizing.

If you didn't know this already, I've quit school...and now I have a full time job as a night-time nanny...and I'm writing full-time.  It's my passion, and I'm following my dream.  I've set crazy goals for myself (finish Draft #2 by September 1st, which requires me writing an average of 890 words a day) and this takes up time.  But I WANT to make time for my blog.  I miss it.

One thing I don't miss about blogging is writing the long reviews.  Honestly, I was kinda sick of it.  I felt like I mentally criticized every book I read and I wasn't enjoying reading as much anymore.  On Goodreads I've been posting some random thoughts after each book, and that's been such a fun way to get out my opinion but not be overtly detailed about it.

So what does this have to do with anything?
I'm thinking about quitting the full-length reviews.  And in their place I will have "Mini-Review Monday", where once a week I post 2 or 3 mini reviews that just let you know how many stars I give the book and what I liked/didn't like about it, in very very verrrry quick terms.  That way, I'm still writing something *like* a review, but it doesn't take up all my time to write it.

I would also keep going with The Bookshelf Dilemma (things are always changing with my bookshelves) and do a VS post every once in a while.  Also, Best of the Bunch once a month is always super fun.  (Speaking of which...I need to write one for May...)

What do you all think?  Any ideas?  How do you bloggers prioritize your time?

Thanks for reading - I look forward to some fun posts in the near future! :)

Life happens, it's okay. Your great blog followers will always be here! And congrats on that big decision! I'm currently taking a year off from school was a hard decision to make. Like, majorly. So kudos to you for following your dreams! (If you ever need a beta reader, I'm here! ;))

Anyway, glad you're doing well, Sierra. Hope to see some blog posts soon! :)

  2. Look at you going after your dreams! Best wishes and lots of hugs to you :)

I like your plan. Mostly because it means you're not going away completely and I'll still get to read your thoughts on books (totally selfish of me!). I hear you on the big reviews. Sometimes it's just easier to write a short review and still get across the gist of what you would have said in a longer one. I say go with what works for you!

  3. Thank you Small! Virtual hugs all around! <3 ;)
Oh, I'm so glad you like my plan. I want to always be around because blogging brings so much joy to my life...particularly the part where I get to meet so many wonderful people, like you! I can't wait to see what this new season of blogging has for me :)

  4. Yay! Thanks for the encouragement! It was a big decision that involved lots of prayer and talking to my parents and just...deciding. But I'm so at peace with this decision and am loving every minute :)
And good for you for taking this year off, too! Let's be school-less buddies together, ok? :)
And ummm YES! Sometime (hopefully soon) I will SO take you up on the beta reader offer! :)

    Thanks for the comment, dear!

  5. I think thats so cool you are writing full-time. I've always wanted to write a book (actually I have some ideas) and have it published. Good for you for following your dreams :)

  6. This is great - as long as you do what YOU want & it feels right.

Of course, sharing book love should be fun. Whather the reviews are loooong & pin the book critically bay its wings... or short & sweet but from the heart.

  7. Way to follow your dream!
