Bout of Books 7.0 - The Plan

Bout of Books

Finally, I've had some time to think about which books I want to read for the Bout of Books 7.0 Read-A-Thon.  And I think I've come to a conclusion of the books I want to give a go. :)

For the beginning of the week, I'm going to need something fast paced and interactive to keep me reading, at least a little bit, while I finish up my last two days of school.  So for the beginning of the week, I'm going to FINALLY read Vortex by Julie Cross.  Tempest was one of my favorite books last year and it was a suuuper fast read, and I'm already immersed in the story, so I think I'll be able to read it in 2 days.

What to read next?  Since I have a book I'm starting for a read-along with a friend over the weekend, I need a small book to fill my time.  I'm thinking any one of these:

Any of those will do, but I'm going to leave it up to how I feel when I've finished Vortex to decide what book to read.  Sometimes, you just gotta leave it up to mood. ;)

Annnnnd you're probably wondering what book I'm reading with my friend that weekend?  Welllll let me show you.

YES I KNOW I HAVEN'T READ IT YET DON'T BE MAD AND THROW THINGS AT MY HEAD.
I'm reading it next weekend because OMG I hear the best things ever and.....don't be jealous...I MET CASSANDRA.  ;)  She had already gone through 200 people and there were still 200 people behind me when I got there, but she took the time to stop me and ask me about my book bag, which she then proceeded to name all the books the quotes were from.  This woman is a literary genius and so therefore, I must read her books.  'Nuff said.

Anyways...I'm getting REALLY excited for this read-a-thon!  My goal is to read 3 books, hopefully 4.  I'm optimistic.  But 3 is more realistic.  We shall see!

Anyone else participating?  Any thoughts on the books I've picked?  Which of the 5 "up-in-the-air" books do you think I should read?  I'd love to hear your thoughts! :)

  1. You haven't read City of Bones!?!? *gasp* (Most people would call that a capital offense!)

I read it much later than everyone too and was kinda let down after all of the hype. Interesting to know your thoughts on this one . . .

  2. I KNOOOW. It's pretty bad. :/ BUT. I wasn't interested until recently, so I haven't dealt with the hype and being SUPER excited for a long time, so I think if I like it, I like it. If I don't like it, I don't like it. And maybe I'll love it. I'm kinda glad I don't have a history of people yelling at me to go read it haha ;)

  3. You met Cassandra! Like MET her. That's so awesome!! I've only read one of her books (the one you're about to read)...which may be just as bad as not reading it at all. But I read it four years ago, and I have no recollection of anything. So I'll just be watching the film. Sarah Dessen is a perfect summer read. My sister read Vortex and said it was dense. The font is super small apparently and it's a pretty hefty book. But since you're an avid reader, you'll probably speed through it :)

  5. I knoooowww! And just that she was such a cool person...I mean...WOW. ;) Hmmm I wonder how I'll like it! I really have no expectations, which is nice. ;)
I do love Sarah Dessen! I also know that I fly through her books in 2 days or less so that'd probably be a good one :) Also: I based my ideas about Vortex off of Tempest, but that's probably not the best thing to do, huh? I may be re-thinking the order I read these books in ;)

Thanks for the comment, Becca! :)
