Friday Buys - The Lauren Oliver Edition

SOOOOO I MET LAUREN OLIVER AND SHE SIGNED MY BOOKS AND IT WAS THE BEST MOMENT OF MY LIFE.

Now I can officially say I've met one of my heroes.  Lauren Oliver is one of the people I most look up to in my life - and even more now that I've met her and heard her stories and just listened to her voice.  I think heaven should have a room in which Lauren Oliver reads out loud to you all day long because omg that woman has an amazing reading voice.  Just, so much presence.  She commands you to listen and grips you and....crap.  It was so great.

So.  Pictures:

Me, my sister, and LAUREN OLIVER.
Yeah.  BIG MOMENT HERE GUYS.
(In case you don't know, I'm the one in the middle, my sister's the one with wavy hair, and Lauren is...Lauren.  And also, she's sitting down.  My mom thought she was just really short. hahahaha)
Basically, I'm so happy about this. SO HAPPY.

And there they are.  So gloriously signed and just BEAUTIFUL.  I still can't believe it.  It's a dream come true!! :D

Annnnd now on to the other books I bought these last few weeks.

Illuminate by Aimee Agresti - gift
Darling Ems @ In Which Ems Reviews Books... sent me this lovely gem - an ARC of Illuminate!  I've been dying to read this and she was just so lovely to gift it to me.  LOVE HER!  You should follow her, btw, because we have some lovely special surprises coming up for you all this summer.  (Shhhh don't tell!)  :D

Long Lankin by Lindsey Barraclough - $4
The False Princess by Eilis O'neal - $7
I've been looking to buy both of these for a while now!  I found Long Lankin used, so that was perfect, and The False Princess I just broke down and bought.  *sigh* I have no self control! haha ;)

The Warrior Heir
and
The Wizard Heir by Cinda Williams Chima
For $.50 and $1.00!!! :)  I'm really intrigued by the synopsis of both of them and hope I enjoy them! :)

Fracture by Megan Miranda - traded via YA Book Exchange
You all know how much I love YA Book Exchange!! I traded with Emily @ Falling for YA, who is also awesome.  You should follow her! :)

The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand - $4
I now have a collection of 2 Rand books and I haven't read either.  MUST READ SOON.

This Dark Endeavor by Kenneth Oppel - $8
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card - $4
I loooooove Oppel and this book and the next book and wowowowowowowowow they just blow me away.  And apparently it is being made into a movie?!  SCORE!
And Ender's Game...HAVEN'T READ IT YET I KNOW DON'T HATE ME.
So I bought it to appease all the fans out there...and also to read it before the movie because OMG I LOVE ASA BUTTERFIELD.

THE STASH
Ahhhhh yahhhhh look at that pile!!  WHOOOHOOOO!!  Except, one problem:  I have no more room.
SO.  All my library books have to go back so I can read the books I own.  Because I'm drowning here.
That is all.

  6. It was WONDERFUL! She's one of the coolest people I've ever met, hands down. It's great when your heroes live up to your expectations. ;)
