Friday Buys 6/29/12 - 7/56/12

Update for FB before I get into the post - I'm currently working on a button for this meme, so other people can grab it and use it, if they wish! ;)

Anywho - onto the fun!

A Room with a View by E. M. Forster
For book club - this looks good!!  I'm so glad it's short, though, cuz I only have three weeks left!

Wonderland Creek by Lynn Austen - $8.00
It's practically brand new, and I got it for half off the list price, and I've been looking for it EVERYWHERE.  I'm sooo stoked about this one!

The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova - $5.50
You know how when you hear of something for the first time and afterward you start seeing it everywhere?  I first heard of this book at book club when my friend was raving about it - and now I see it all the time!  This was a decent copy for a decent price - can't wait to dive in!

Surrender the Heart by MaryLu Tyndall - $.75
Super excited for this! It sounds romantic and intense - totally worth a read! :D

Nevermore by Kelly Creagh
LOOK AT HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!  I can't even BEGIN to express my TOTAL excitement about reading this book.  With everything I've heard about it...it's like I KNOW it's going to be a favorite.  (Or at lest, I'm REALLY hoping!!)
SO stoked!! :D

The Stash! :D  It's been a great week!

NETGALLEY for review:
This is an update for the NetGalleys I've received for the last month...not as many as normal, thank God, I'm showing some restraint, but I'm really excited for all these titles.  Maybe not like, OMG I have to read them NOW!  But they all have potential to be favorites, and that excites me! :D

What have you received, bought, smuggled, swiped, and/or been gifted with this week? ;)

  2. The Historian = AMAZING!!! I read it a couple years ago and absolutely loved it - the characters, the gothic feel, the Cold War setting, the relationship with Dracula, the academic connections...of course, there's a lot of people who think it's boring because of these things. :P

  3. NEVERMORE IS SO BEAUTIFUL! I'm really, really, really hoping you love it too! The writing is just so beautiful and the story is waaaaay sweet and the cover? Lip ring or no lip ring, it's absolutely gorgeous! I think that's the reason I randomly bought it in stores anyways LOL :') Eeeeee, SO excited for you to read it! And I know there have been some iffy reviews with League of Strays lately, but I'm kinda intrigued. Will definitely be looking forward to your reviews! :)

I hope you have the most amazing reading weekend, Sierra! <3

  9. EEpp!! That is a GORGEOUS copy of Nevermore! I feel the same way about it—I KNOW I will love it (which means I really really really hope I do!) I'm waiting until the trilogy is published in full before I start reading them because each book is looooong and the author takes a long time to publish each installment and my memory is too poor for that! And, I'm impatient. :)

Unlocking the Spell looks SO cute! I have it too and I can't wait to read it. I was surprised by how much I loved the first one. I'm glad they kept the same cover artist, too. It's adorably perfect!

  10. Seriously - I don't know what I'm doing, buying the book now, but there's no stopping me!  I'm in love with the story already - and I haven't even started it yet!

I totally agree about Unlocking the Spell!  So cute!  It really bugs me when they change the cover art/artists.  This is so perfect for the series that they better not change it!  ;)

Thanks for the comment, Small! :D
